Stephane has been creating various tracks. The above link provides some samples. Rather good I must say.
The below multi-colored picture is a subway map. Can you guess what type of level this would belong in?
Lars is a Level 3 Thug. He is running.
The Roof Top level is pretty much complete. Things will most likely need to be reworked once we have it up and running. Here are a few items to behold. A vertical piece of duct work, a purple railing, and a bush. Incredible, right? Not so much...? They won't look as blurry in the game.
I worked on Jagger's first animation. Even with Gil's block, damage will still be dealt. There is some weight behind that punch. Just look at that hulking arm swing!
Upcoming Planning Phases: 1. Finish the 4th level (actually, I almost have all the assets completed to put the level together). 2. I sketched out the final level. Once I put the ending touches to the previous level, then I can take my mouse and GIMP program and begin clicking away. The final level will have a few more platform elements entwined.
3. Hammer away at the remaining enemy animations. 4. In between it all, I will begin chiseling out another "so-called" hero in case 2 player co-op becomes a reality.
5. Test out the gameplay as it is coded and pick the right grooves that will provide a great compliment of a beat down. Then, sound effects will be integrated.
6. Cut Scenes will be hashed out. All the dialog has been wrote out. The opening cut scene is done. Along with that, I need to redo the logo on the main screen. It's alright for now, but I think I can do one that has more "POP" appeal.
Down below is the register you would make your transaction at in order to get that sweet blissful sugary goodness. If you look close enough, you can see a gumball dispenser. Oh what I would give for a penny. Actually, that gum loses its flavor rather quickly. I think I'll pass.
The checkered layout is an upgrade to the original one posted last month. The green rack is an object within the store. Then there are two types of trash cans for the Park level along with one version of a slide. The tiny little brown box is a brown box. It will be placed in the store and in the back storage room. All items for the Park are finished and pretty much the same goes for the 2nd level Store. The 3rd level is taking longer than I thought since I'm experimenting with different variations. Going back to the rack makes me want a piece of candy. Go and treat yourself to a piece when you get the chance.
Good News: A composer by the name of Stephane has joined this circus. He has already busted out several compositions for the game. I hope to post a few snippets or more in the very near future. And here I thought I would have to contact Motley Crue to get the rights for "Dr. Feelgood."
Rafael has shown me a new perspective on the beat em' up genre. He showed me a game from the past that I've never even heard of (and it's a beat em' up of all things), but does the beat em' up slightly different. After seeing it in action, I'm totally on board. It adds a little more interaction. Once we have a working beta going, I can post what I mean. You probably are aching to know. It's like the piece of candy is in your hands, but you can't get the wrapper off. UGHHH! Or, you could maybe care less.
To tide you over, here is Jagger. He is a cop. Is he good or is he corrupt? Will he even make the final cut? Did he just watch the Karate Kid? What-is-his-story? So many unanswered questions. You know, looking at him, he could also be an Elvis impersonator.
